چکیده
Due to the increasing criticality of rare earth elements (REEs), it has become essential recover REEs from alternative resources. In this study, systematic leaching tests were performed on calcination product a coal coarse refuse using hydrochloric acid and different types organic as lixiviants. Experimental results show that recovery REEs, especially heavy (HREEs) scandium (Sc), is improved by selected acids. Citric dl-malic afford best performances; whereas, malonic acid, oxalic dl-tartaric are inferior acid. Results zeta potential measurements solution chemical equilibrium calculations more likely adsorbed surface calcined material compared with citric The adsorption may reduce effective concentration species in and/or increase amount surface, thereby impairing recovery. Compared light (LREEs), stronger HREEs observed electro-kinetic test results. This finding explains why acids impose positive impact HREEs. By complexing HREEs, can keep metal ions improve Sc3+ lowest other REEs. Therefore, rather than complexing, anionic play function solubilizing Sc solid, which similar hydrogen ions.

Recovery and Separation of Rare Earth Elements Using Salmon Milt
Recycling rare earth elements (REEs) used in advanced materials such as Nd magnets is important for the efficient use of REE resources when the supply of several REEs is limited. In this work, the feasibility of using salmon milt for REE recovery and separation was examined, along with the identification of the binding site of REEs in salmon milt. Results showed that (i) salmon milt has a suffi...
متن کاملInvestigation of leaching kinetics of zinc from a low-grade ore in organic and inorganic acids
The leaching kinetics of a low-grade zinc oxide ore in different acid media was investigated with respect to the experimental variables including acid concentration, temperature, liquid to solid (L/S) ratio, and stirring speed. The results obtained showed that the leaching reagent concentration and the reaction temperature exerted significant effects on the extraction of zinc, whereas the L/S r...
متن کاملCoal fly ash as a resource for rare earth elements
Rare earth elements (REE) have been recognised as critical raw materials, crucial for many clean technologies. As the gap between their global demand and supply increases, the search for their alternative resources becomes more and more important, especially for the countries which depend highly on their import. Coal fly ash (CFA), which when not utilised is considered waste, has been regarded ...
متن کاملRare Earth Elements in Soils of Jharia Coal Field
There are many sources trough which the soil get enriched and contaminated with REEs. The determination of REEs in environmental samples has been limited because of the lack of sensitive analytical techniques. Soil samples were collected from four sites including open cast coal mine, natural coal burning, coal washery and control in the coal field located in Dhanbad, India. Total concentrations...
